Grave Concerns

Grave Concerns

A Poem by Dave Brown

flight flummox

While making coffee early morning

I heard the strangest sound

It seemed like a kind of warning

Which made me look around

Outside the kitchen window

The weirdest sight appeared

It looked like a mighty space ship

At least, that is what I feared

A great puff of steam

And an access hatch popped open

I didn’t want Martians to appear

At least, that was whut I wuz hopin

It was couple stepped down the ramp

And they gave me a friendly wave

Then told me about their concern

Which was very grave

As they launched, their thermos smashed

Which left flight enjoyment awfully offy

And when they smelled my perking brew

They wondered if they could get from me

A decent cup-a-coffee

I hope you charged them for a set of directions on a decent cold fusion reactor, for that I would even give them cream:)
