The Good Life

The Good Life

A Chapter by Dave Brown

no sweater is better

Derwerd,  Donnie and their sister Mar-ee

Went for a walk longside the sea

Where to the surprise of these relative three

She fell in, before others could see

But they did notice her being carried away

But by what, too difficult to say

It was a situation none could foresee

Watching sweet Mar-ee wash out to sea

Apparently, Merman had grabbed the dear miss

His aim and objective, a life of true bliss

With his muscular arm wrapped round her waist

They vanished completely, as tho’ lives erased

It turned out, they’d met on the ‘Café’

Swapping love poems, day after day

She hadn’t fallen, it was actually a dive

All in response to a hormonal sex drive

They’ve settled on a tropical isle, and in regard

She sent her two brothers, a don’t worry card

She also mailed back her redundant warm sweater

Because life with her Merman, just couldn’t be better
