Potholes

Potholes

A Chapter by Dave Brown

If I had to do it again

I doubt that I’d change

Over those many years

Too much to rearrange

A whole new life now,

Would feel awfully strange

And for the one I have now

There’s nothing I’d exchange

But it’s kind of nice to dream

Which I often do

Because life can sometimes

Turn into a zoo

It would help occasionally

To get a minor clue

About all those little potholes

I keep tripping right into
