Molly Bee and Frog

Molly Bee and Frog

A Chapter by Dave Brown

A-courtin late evening, at the hive club

Molly Bee and Frog meaningfully tarried

She thought it was just an innocent nose rub

But he proposed that they should be married

They were pollen-mated up in hive number three

Not near the swamp, but down by the sea

There were groans from drones who picked a few bones

But with pollen a-fallin, walked down an isle of stones

She flew them both to the Isle of Capri

Queen Bee and Frog vacationed in a Banyan tree

With both pollen and insects as a courtesy

Their honey-moon was like a fantasy

Three flying frogs were mothered for hours

Then with pollen a-callin they took to the flowers

Sally and Tommy and Peggy-New too

Were Frog and Moll’s pollen gathering crew

Flying frogs and flowers meshed quite compatibly

With other insects being eaten quite gladibly

Having competition thus eliminated so completibly

Honey production was most successful financibily
