Fixing Broken Hearts

Fixing Broken Hearts

A Chapter by Dave Brown

The old man

With his well-worn ways

Of making repairs

On just cloudy days

Fixing frowns and gloom

Usually went fairly well

But on quality of repairs

He was unlikely to dwell

It was one special rush job

When things fell apart

On his most preferred cloudy day

He failed to fix, a broken heart

Dumbfoundedly, reading the manual

He diligently consumed each detail

Trying to determine the error he made

And how he could possibly fail

After finding his reading glasses

He found it in the small print

That repair was impossible on cloudy days

No clouds at all, no, not a hint

The situation has now gone very well

And he is into the mega-bucks

His broken heart repairs are so well known

Customers are filling huge semi-trucks
