Plate Problems

Plate Problems

A Chapter by Dave Brown

Two plates built together, right from the start

Now, one preferred a meatball, the other a tart

They had been together, since the start of their days

Now they were to go on their separate ways

Strange how a diet can be so obtuse

Now each for the other had simply no use

One plate with its meatball went onto the table

The tart on the other plate, on a lap less stable

No problems on the table were seen to ensue

But the plate with the tart on a lap went askew

Onto the floor, there now broken and more

When both might have remained at the plate store

Had they stayed together, as had before

This would not have happened, that on the floor

Just for the sake of a meatball and tart

They will forever now be apart
