Electric Car

Electric Car

A Chapter by Dave Brown

My old tin lizzie was a constant battle

It was cursed with every possible rattle

The endless noise ricocheted each day

I couldn’t hear a word my wife would say

So, we decided to purchase an electric car

Even though some batteries won’t go to far

But when you’re driving, its super quiet

Which is why we decided to buy it

The drive of this beauty is truly stable

For conversing together, we’re truly able

I was impressed with the quiet fit of doors

She grasped the occasion to list my chores

She started on top, down to the bottom

I was amazed at how many I’d gotten

The longer that this quiet machine was used

I realized it was the wrong one we choosed

We’ve gone back to our old noisy Tin Lizzy

Her list of chores had left me lost and dizzy

From that all electric, I’ve happily fled

Though she complains

Now, I can’t hear a word that she’s said
