Designer Ladies

Designer Ladies

A Chapter by Dave Brown

We met in a department store

Of all the strange places

She was just one more

Of so many faces

I slipped, she tripped

A strange way to meet

But we immediately

Both felt the heat

Old guy, and a ‘look at girl’

A cracked shell and a sweet pearl

From department store

To evermore

But I new it wouldn’t last

She was too gorgeous

And too soon,

My day had passed

When we were around

All “the other guys”

She couldn’t control

Her soft, lovely brown eyes

Old guy and a ‘look at girl’

A cracked shell and a sweet pearl

I see her occasionally

Out on the beach

We still smile

But she’s far out of reach

These, so gorgeous ladies

That I quite often see

Are just too hot to handle

For an old guy like me

An old guy without a girl

A broken shell, minus the pearl

Come on man. A man still be shooting pearls until 60s. Dave Letterman had a kid late in life. Dang. Just go get it.
