Airborne

A Chapter by Dave Brown

The nice man at the door

Gave me that kina look

When he agreed that to get in

This was the weird look that it took

Green eyelashes and pink hair

The top of my body, completely bare

A yellow hat in a tight-fitting square

And an extra, folding lawn chair

Nodded his approval, opened the door

The long hall led to an orange dance floor

It would stay open till well after four

Or if necessary, even much more

Music screamed out a wild fahrenheit

Would be howlin all through the night

Feet off the ground, everyone in flight

Reflecting each dancer’s crazy mad sight

A combo of techno, disco and jive

Kept the night wild till well after five

Until at 6Am I took a nosedive

Still hearing music, although barely alive

Sleeping through Sunday to Monday AM

Into traffic motivated by the car horn

But it don’t bother me allasame

Because I'm still feel airborne
