Hope and Heart

Hope and Heart

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

"

Can it be found beneath a rock

Thought of hope and heart and joy

Something that is meant to feel

That forever could employ

Is it perhaps behind a door

With a handle needs a twist

That very special thought

That so far has been missed

Could it be within a feathered breast

Though yet a maturing waif

Tho’ it twists and turns in flight

Optimism has kept it safe

Might it be within the trunk

Of a graceful growing tree

There available to one and all

Like the taste of fine Chablis

Or beside Spring’s flowing stream

Rushing eager on its way

Like music from the soul

Waiting patiently to play

Happiness can be found almost anywhere if we simply look as well as joy and hope. We simply have to open our minds and hearts for that little sparkle. Alas though sometimes life interferes and dulls that shine to where we can’t see it.

It certainly is worth looking for considering the options

dear Dave... now I will think of our Rappahannock River being full of Hope and Heart as it gathers rapids in the Wake of “Music of the Soul waiting patiently to Play”. Your poem is an orchestrated Composition inspired by Beethoven himself.
