A Chapter by Dave Brown

Planting both veggies and flowers

In the garden on one weekend

What with my forgetting and all

I mistakenly dug up my old girlfriend

I couldn’t believe how good she looked

She said it was that new face cream

Her clothes were a touch soiled

But looked as good as she’d ever been

Immediately we began to date again

Soon rekindling our deep love

The very kind of wonderful relationship

That is sent down from high above

When I asked why she’d left the hole open

She said it was a token of our affection

Although as I looked back down into it

She sliced me right through the midsection

Our relationship has suffered somewhat

But there’s no reason to make amends

Because she buried me in the company of

Both of my other two lovely girlfriends
