The Painters Brush

The Painters Brush

A Chapter by Dave Brown

5 Tips to Paint Fallen Leaves Easier and Quicker - Master Oil Painting Master Oil Painting

The Painter’s brush, like others of the clique

Designed to persuade many colors to speak

Carefully coordinating shades soft and unique

Much like a tender Bride’s blushing young cheek

Sun cools as aged leaf’s, waning lives display

Twists and turns in cooling Autumn’s airway

An artist brush dabs into all but dullest grey

Patiently preferring a casually-colored entrée

Oranges, yellows, reds and a few tender green

Upon rising hillside, where most easily seen

With ancient Cedars towering tall in between

Boldly brushed Autumn’s newest color cuisine

Attending Artist’s refresh each color each day

With enhanced shades coating Autumn’s brief stay

A fresh breath of pleasure where bold brushes stray

Congratulations chatter from each passing Bluejay

Until from cold skies, a different color appears

Requiring warm toques, to be tightly tucked over ears

Worn and faded colors gradually follow their peers

To be replaced with moments of holiday cheers

Your palette here has splendid colour and I for one am enjoying the autumn hues before the last of the leaf fall. It will be soon. My garden tells me that. Soon the bleak of many undressed trees will greet us as winter settles in. Thank goodness that spring visits each year. A lovely write from you Dave.

Very nicely rhymed, Dave. Some autumnal scenes do indeed look like the products of an artist's brush. Of course, we all know, as the last stanza indicates, that the cold weather is coming and the old colors are fading away. It's the way of the world. Whatever, we also know that spring will return.

That is quite likely why so many of us enjoy the arrival of Spring and rebirth
They have their brushes and we have our "pens and brushes" :> nice to see that You write other than humor but You couldn't but to add your brush at the end~ when it comes to poetry I am not good with "painting" the scenes, I know Chris to be so wonderful in that.
