Beyond the Veil

Beyond the Veil

A Poem by Arthur Crow

Immortals covet the secrets of winter’s somber kiss

Talons and black roses entwine in nocturnal solitude,

Like a rendezvous of shadows and murdered pantheons

Upon tides of devoured flesh our memories grow heavy;

Forever betroth’d to nightscapes of windswept voices

O’ how the blood of ghosts lingers in the debris of time,

There among pyres of dreams burning in a lover’s ballet

For we are vampires lost in the timbre of ash and snow,

Haunted by the song of ravens in the cold dark squall
