A thank you to all of the wonderful voices I have learned from here. I found a burned book in front of my house & saved it. I realized that they may burn the books but the words never go:)
Sometimes I try to urge a newer writer to use more sparkling verbs for a dynamic pop . . . this poem of yours could be the poster child for that advice. I love the lines where you use a series of verbs & other words with similar or coordinating sounds. I love how you incorporate your daily discoveries into your poems . . . that burned book is very mystifying! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

There's part of me that goes: "OK you've said enuf, now just shut up!" I long to delve more deeply & it's a process that's been taking me years so far . . . *smile*
A burnt book is food for fools...
But it loox really kool...
You have a tendency to be abrupt in your style, I am seeing...
Whereas I would try to continue syllable flow without the jarring up or down of such extreme mouth-shapes when pairing lines...
I am coming to appreciate the way you shake things up...
Gives a real cutting-edge-vibrancy and POP to what you write...
You show-off your massive knowledge of how words SOUND, more so than how they just look...
This is a talent, a gift, and a well-honed skill...
Cheers
Those kind of people will never realize that the swing of thought and power comes from the power of motivation and persuasion and not destruction.
There are books I will not buy or read. I exercise my convictions in making this choice. I may air my views to persuade others, I do not destroy those books to make that choice for others.

Book burns are fools, people with no words of their own.
I love that this piece has a certain sing-song quality to it while I read (at least in my mind). This is a lovely dedication too, to the cafe members who are indeed an inspiration to many like me. And that burned book just made my heart clench, I'm glad you saved it!
I love your first line here the most. Nicely penned.

Voice of your words own spiritual energy, they whisper affecting lines., lifting vision to heavens and connecting, binding compassions in glorious emotions. Your ever astute disposition fascinates me, dear Robert.
I wonder the stories a burned book is carrying, left behind to excite the curiosuty of someone like you. The words, those fascinating little packages of coded messages, telling us more than the messsages in itself. I read your poems as the raw material for an elaborated tale, which refuses to explain itself, but just let me guess all the possible meanings. It makes me free to choose. And it makes me playful. Many thanks.
Go, Bunny, loved the story and the poem the way you use language is a wonderful thing, they can burn the books but not the thoughts sharp precise dialogue, I can hear it shouted or whispered at some smoky open mic night,

the scientist have concluded that ants can understand the voices of other ants in their own nests. A tender side of a species that is both ruthless and unsparing. Yet, we haven't learned s**t from the ants about engaging or nation building. But I digress:
the last line makes this a love poem. And perhaps even the first line denotes the usable fuel of love since, like ants, we have to learn how to use it. great poem....dana

Did you ever see those sculptures they make out of ant nests where they pour liquid metal into the top of the nest and the metal fills all of the crevices and the let it cool and pull out the hardened impression. They are beautiful and a kind of a testament to the ingenuity of the collective conscious of the colony kind of like a great poem:)
