With your bookend pictures, I feel like this is the journey of one’s life. Moving from black and white into color. Symbolic of discovering the true nature of self.

It seems like a release of the negative things that have shaped what came before and allowing the goodness to bloom out. What a concept. Being kind to ourselves is a beginning that can reap a beautiful, bright garden if we let it.

Not always easy, but I feel the strength and a defiance of the past here. What has been is not the determiner of what will be. Excellent work, Robert.

hello Penwhill nice to meet you thanks for the read:)
I've said to you before there is no difference between the arts. Some work in time, some in space. But all work through the language of the artist.
This therefore, is a drawing and a song. A film and a dance. This is percussive and melodic. It is monotone and colourful. It understands the language and then it plays with the rules. Which is something you can only do when you understand. This is yourself.

I have had many many fine teachers:)
Love the staccato lines and the rhyming! I can imagine this as a rap song. Epiphanies color our world....we see things bursting with color suddenly and wonder how we could not have noticed sooner. A coming of age of sorts. Very well written, Robert. I like the font too. Lydi**

I got some moving ones but, not quite the pace of Living in a Chroma.
I'm welcoming this new man, arising from static black and white to a myriad of shades. I'm loving the determined staccato of this poem, from somenone walking into a new way of looking at reality. You're a master of words.

I see this poem as a life story. A younger man who lived his days without colour. I see him changing as he ages finding his true self and embracing a new way of living. A new way of looking at things. It is a triumph Bunny. Great beat, language and so very you. Love it.

What I see in this poem is a wonderful movie, a talented actor, casts in black and white, later made into color. What is revealed is not only color but depth, the briliance of individualism in expressions, clothing, etc. This is transition, not to a new person, but to a clearer view of the real person.

“Embracing my enigmatic..displacing scornful stigmatic..hold fast..young man”- and you do it all so well my gifted friend! Why settle for “monochromatic“..ever? “Pseudo self”- never! Alliterative, staccato lines pound out the rhythm of a spirit on fire. All the phases of a man becoming..new. A man being all that he can be.. dancing on the hot coals. Inspiring, powerful write from a powerful poet. You set the bar high. I dance with you- and applaud. Kudos B.B.!
