Autumblings

Autumblings

A Poem by Robert Trakofler (Bad Bunny)

__Autumblings__

 Recall when I was small;

eyes waken to amber light hues;

cast upon my bedroom wall.

I gaze from my window to view;

autumns brush blushing call;

impressionist leaf retinue.

Dash outside catching fall;

to traipse in seasons rendezvous.

--

Cold crisp airs, bracing breeze;

shaking as tree limbs wave to greet.

Wind rustle symphonies;

Bustling leaves to dance  entreat.

Draft scent of musty spice;

As face falls pon leaf pile to meet.

Turn to gaze canopy;

dream trick or treats on Halloween.

Robert, it's difficult to trigger so many senses in a few short lines. But, you've done that masterfully here. You transport us to our youth, when leaf piles and Halloween were our thoughts and fun. An original work with a happy mood this October day. Another remarkable work, sir.

Loveliest season of them all. The time of rebirth and mother nature in all her glorious colours.

You have stimulated my senses in this lovely autumnal offering through the eyes of little you. Bunny it was a delight and also reminded me of my childhood too. Mind you, I still like to catch and kick leaves now. Some of us never grow up.

You paint a vivid word picture of the glory of Fall color, and of the pleasure its brilliance embues.

I too love those painted Autumn days… and the sounds of Autumn, as I wrote in my onomatopoeic poem "Raining Autumn Fall." https://www.writerscafe.org/writing/MomzillaNC/1441497/

I think of Delius. Don't know why. Maybe because this is a flowing musical pastorale. Maybe because you have hit my senses in such a way. I cannot say but what I can say is that this is indeed musical and flowing and impressionistic and beautiful. It transports the reader gently to pleasant vaguely sad and pleasingly peaceful places. Then it invites the reader to remember themselves.

A trip back in time to the innocent pleasures of autumn as a kid. I love this, Robert. It made me think of Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. I still have a kid in me, and have loved having young kids so could have an excuse to play in leaves or go trick or treating. They’re getting older now, so not sure how I’ll manage to get away with it now. Ha.

Anyway, I loved the way this transported me not only to that place but also, in ways, to the mind of the child. Unclouded and open to absorbing the beauty and wonder. It’s a beautiful sensory poem.

You’re welcome, and good morning to you.
Ah, Autumn! I remember childhood Autumns in New Jersey and this poem brought it all back. The McIntosh crisp air, the piles of leaves to jump into, the leaves "dancing" off the trees.....all leading up to the great stash we collected on Halloween. You really touched on all the senses here, Robert. Great one. Lydi**
