Ring

Ring

A Poem by Robert Trakofler
"

Wrote these lyrics/poem to my favorite Miles Davis song written by Lorenz Hart / Richard Rodgers

"

__Ring__

It had never… entered my mind

I thought that we would stand

Invalidate… the test of time

I hear the ring disband

Left here wearing… the wretched crime

Life stolen from her hand

I’m still listening… for her lost chime

Holding an empty band

When will I… stop seeing you?

In that empty chair

How can I… erase the view?

Of your lovely hair

When I wake… to smell its dew

And not see you there?

I just ache… this loss of you

In this solitaire

It never entered my mind

WOW! This absolutely rings as a song in my mind! in my humble opinion this can create a wonderful song, lyrics should be simple yet have strong effect as they flow with a specific rythem, YOU managed that, but why the song isn't playing? I tried few times and still it doesn't play?!

those Miles Davis Prestige years were so tenderly drawn and pretty (1951-56) with Red Garland on piano. You write just as pretty as his playing on this one Bad..But poetry is mostly solitary when written.....but, like jazz, comes alive when exposed to another person.. Keats said that most will write poetry all their lives and then be dead... He was wrong..Poems are a living thing.....dana

A heartrending poem about losing someone very close to your heart. Very well written.

Lol I do have some free time maybe I give it a try:)
WOW....your bluesy words are the perfect accompaniment to this song. When a relationship ends, it is difficult to go on. Whether it ends because someone passes or because someone walks out the door, their essence remains...and the memories. Melancholy and blue....and just damn wonderful! Lydi**

and you listened quite well!
A fine juxtaposition of words and music. Miles has provided the perfect backdrop to your words...or your words provide the perfect highlight to Miles' delicate trumpet, either way the reader wins.
Those who have left are never truly gone.

A good write friend. Take care...be safe.
