Knowledge is Way Cool

Knowledge is Way Cool

A Poem by GardenDelights

A story of a girl, a frog, and getting lost.

Though my name is Mary

and I can be quite contrary,

When I tell you what I feel

I try to keep it oh-so-real

People say I walk around

my head up in the air

But, I say I’m thinking ‘bout

how I’m to get somewhere

I like my hair in pigtails

That I wear close together

It makes people laugh and say

I don’t look very clever

One day I was desperate

to have a little fun

I followed a hopping frog

He kept me on the run

The frog stopped suddenly

I’m afraid that I did not

Which caused me to wind up

face down ina muddy spot

Now I found that I was lost

and feeling full of dread

Watching in complete dismay

as off the froggy fled

I walked in its direction

and fine'ly found the frog

Croaking out his protest

from on a mossy log

Then I remembered that

moss grows on the north

And the sun sets in the west

which made it easy to go forth

For on my left I heard a train

whistle from its tracks

And then I laughed in glee as

I knew how to get back

The tracks were a mile from home

at their closest run

So I headed west towards my house

into the setting sun

For all you silly people that

think knowledge is for fools

I’ll tell you from my front porch

that knowledge is way cool!
