PREJUDICE

 

On the grounds of sexual equality

I feel that the Church is amiss

For they only specify “Amen” in church

 Not Ah-Women or even Ah-Miss

So, it seems to me, Christianity

With it’s old fashioned values is wrong.

 For by implication, when a mixed congregation,

 Raise their voice  in devotionial song

They seem quite unaware

 Of the prejudice there

That the  music they’re singing infers

 That it clearly entails, that the Church favours males.

 For why only sing hymns  - not hers?

Your witty funny truth-based snark on religion sparks a rant in me. Pardon me while I vent. Thanks to our worthless dictator with his whimsical wrath, we can never be sure if doing/saying a thing is politically correct or to be forever scorned for it's total wrongness. He's got the country wondering which is the preferred position for honoring our flag (or how to properly aim our royal supplications), which is the accepted holiday greeting to use, which lives matter, and whether the USA ever belonged to Native Americans. The list goes on, but you get my drift. As for the Christian right, that's become so horribly disfigured, people can't find a straight line between the holy-rollers who support the prez & anything having to do with the "other Lord" *wink! wink!* I'll shut up now. This is why I often take long breaks from being online. Everything seems to spark this & when I'm alone in the wilderness I never think about it! I noticed in one of his photos, he carried a bible upside down. Perhaps THAT was significant. His doctors also claim that he could live to 200.
When our PM left hospital after his Coronavirus , his family claimed " He has risen". It appears that we now choose our leaders for their immortality, rather than statesmanship. Glad to share your rant ,Margie (albeit with a lighter theme)
