How Did I Get Here?

How Did I Get Here?

A Poem by Soft Interlude

We get put into roles we never asked for

How long have I got here?
In this desert of a life,
In this sweater I always wear,
In this bed I sometimes lay.

The moments are always fleeting,
They fall out of my mind.
One by one they tumble,
Down the river of my fears.

The less I know the better,
No sense in false hope.
Though I crave it,
I crave it for all I'm worth.

Where will I go when it's over?
Will the sun come up?
My mind won't wake,
The sun will shine.
