Fly High

Fly High

A Poem by Soft Interlude

I'm high.
I exist so high,
In everybody's mind.
Let me down.

I float around up here.
No sense of direction,
No lever to pull me down,
No harness to strap me in.

My thoughts get lost in the clouds.
Each time I pass one,
I lose a part of me.
They existed so deep inside.

I want to get down.
I never asked to fly.
I was only given wings,
Never knowing their purpose.

How I can relate to to these ways that would hard to explain in ways that you may have or may not have meant..wonderous poem.

It’s a strange mix of thoughts, those that would kill to fly and those who think it’s a curse. This is a good mix of emotion and hopelessness, wondering if one got grounded permanently if they would eventually miss the flight. Good job!!
