Poem 2 - Velvet & Gold

Poem 2 - Velvet & Gold

A Chapter by Tertia

Velvet and gold
The raindrops were
And I love being inside
Were the words said by her

And while I slept
She crept in my head
Raking through thoughts
Do I actually sleep in this bed?

And as raindrops fall
All velvet and finest gold
I wondered how long I should
Stand being in the hostile cold?

Sitting by the window
You are wrapped in wool
You stare out at the garden
At rain falling by the bucketful

And I am taking corners
From the forks in the road
Making the best of things
From what is there & bestowed

Pardon me for not noticing your writing much before . . . I've been sketchy & catching up. This is really good writing & I'm so glad you read-requested me. Your words make me feel all those rainy-day sensations of being inside vs being outside . . . a great metaphor for "letting people in" to one's life (or not). I love the sensation of push-and-pull that you convey, as if indecisive or afraid to commit (that would be me). Your writing is fresh & inventive, nothing cliche at all (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

NIce. I actually get an image in my head of what feels like a short story.

I like it... hostility is the thing most of them wish it to be.

Mmm Another side of you

I like it
Rainy days looking out of the window.
How deep is the water running down the road
Watching the 'rain dogs' racing each other down the window

All we can do is take what is sent and make the best of things
