Dragging my Feet

Dragging my Feet

A Poem by Yuvia Chairez

Add three spoons of moon
and three cups of balm of gilead,
maybe a few seeds of cardamom
and catnip to bend the will of love your way.
Otherwise, drag your feet and dance,
wink at the sandstorm,
and recite your poetry to the rain
and make your wish on that shooting star.

Take the spoons, the moon, and the herbs, my dear;
it's a lot faster.
