pine flesh mother

pine flesh mother

A Poem by kamiya

the walls of this forest seal me in
a burning incense of birchwood and patchouli
a sticky maple balm

turkey tail and swans neck moss devoured trees
black spines entangled
from earths siren howls

my mother is like any
hot sleet bleeds off her pine bark
sparking forest fires of oak and morel
she canoes in the black obsidians pond
of her storms

eats headless earthworms
buries dead chrysanthemums
with rotten gardens in nailbeds

my mother is like any
kingdoms of insects kissing her brown curly roots
pockets full of seeds and leaf beetles
reshi and toadstools blooming
from her emerald blades
pomegranate jams dripping down maple bark

entangling me in the leaves of her evergreens
my mother is as any headless earthworms
pockets of moss and seeds
