Somethingness

Somethingness

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
"

Inspired by Tahsin's poem "Nothingness"

"
Somethingness

repelling in a cave of dreams
searching for somethingness
demon walls of peace
arbitrarily exhume my fears
I am stalled in that darkness
there is a blade of light
maybe an opening
maybe a slight opportunity
to wake still clutching the dream
gripping tightly to a hope

that the any thingness
that's turned to nothingness
repelling the hope
for which we go spelunking
will be ascertained in a crevasse
a new excavation located

at the other end of our exploration.

I can relate with it so well. Sometimes I think what if my life ends just by repairing myself for years. Hopes are so strong yet so fragile to reality. But we always hop onto a new exploration by leaving cracks on our glacier like present. Good write, sir J!

(somethingness, any thingness, nothingness, spelunking) I am in "word heaven)! And beyond that, the poem has its own fantabulous merits as well. A winner in my book Jacob! ~Sharon

A brilliant poem that takes you into the depths.
Mes one not only think, but reflect.
Nicely done.

Love this. Kinda like life, as we crawl along darkened vertical ledges wondering: "is that all there is?" Surely there must be more to it than this. The way you use the title word with a sprinkling of other "thing" variations . . . brilliant! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

If that's all there is . . . then let's just keep dancing!

Ok thanks 🙏
I know this feeling but on the flip side. I tend to write about the wishful longing and the hope I have.

I love the repelling in somethingness it is a great way to put it. This was creative and heartfelt

We find inspiration in all kinds of places
Strong words and thoughts shared Jacob.
"that the any thingness
that's turned to nothingness
repelling the hope
for which we go spelunking
will be ascertained in a crevasse
a new excavation located"
The above lines were my favorite. It seems, we are always seeking new excavation sites of hope. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are welcome Jacob.
Reminded me how we all need something to cling to, a small ray of hope when the going gets really tough. It doesn't matter what it is, we just need a glimmer to work with. Something we can grip on to and cling to on challenging times.

You have captured the way many have been feeling, Jacob - clinging to anything, even if it’s nothing... I’ve missed reading your work.
