Voices

Voices

A Poem by Kiera Scanlon

Nothing left to do,
But,
Plead, cry, and bleed,
Which is something,
That wasn't meant for me.

I hear voices,

There's no turning back,
They take my life just like that,
The voices win,
And I struggle,
All because,

I hear voices,

After many empty years,
And a silenced mind
Running on auto,
Now, i'ts my time.
And,

I hear voices,
No more.

Voices are a pain in the butt. They bother, tease, and more often than not, mislead. What makes it worse is they chatter all the time giving no peace and quiet. Maybe you have discovered this too,but I found that wrting about them, exposing them to the whole world, exposing them to the light of day so all can see their stupidity, shuts them up at least for awhile. I liked your poem Kiera, simply yet poetically expressed. ~~redzone

Voices of whom, are these the voices which suppress your freedom or is this the voice of a lost one, if its the former than you are giving an awesome statement which kind of sounds revolutionary.

No doubt the voices say; why is everything so complicated when logic dictates life should be easy ? Please walk along a lake and filter the crap that going on out of your mind and just breath .. there is beauty in the the world and it is not hard to find, listen to mozart

A powerful and sad poem. Voices can lead us to dead-ends. The poem told a sad story with a bad ending. I like the poem. A complete internal struggle in so few words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

This poem can be interpreted in different ways. I feel some pain and then relief at the end, a battle won(?) - that is my take. There is a solid flow to this piece. Good job.
