We Salute (2)

We Salute (2)

A Poem by Reflection

I truly salute them! It's a life decision to accept death!

We Salute (2)

Many fears, many tears

Life's never the same, the mind shifts many gears.

The innocent dream of a serene scene on the ocean

Each calculated step has its own breath awaiting death in the commotion.

An embedded notion, the young built up to battle self

Trained with sickness on the brain only to gain destructive mental health.

Praying to maintain stealth amongst the broken

The past is the present, those in charge never cease with provokin'.

A barrage of throwin' up and chokin' with a strained heart

How does one stay copin' in leadership and affecting their part?

Blood money prevails, conquering a premeditated life long spark.

The very end before it starts

Most days they slay and lay low in the dark.

March on soldier

Stay strong with the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Your mind is over but thanks for giving us a carefree ride

We Salute you, now you must come home to complete your demise.

Thank you, my friend! Glad it resonated with you............
Really Deep, Gus...relentless rhythm...I dislike politics but it's something I'm good at...war is just a tool...and I always think...is it a means for depopulation...control of resources...etc...to have young men face death in the breath of their youth...I'm sure it's a bit everything. Your poem had pondering in my thoughts...nicely done.
