Rooted Words

Rooted Words

A Poem by monica abigail

with borrowed words
you planted a seed
to which you cared for
and watched after
with much patience.
this seed sprouted
so you kept a close eye
on your little borrowed child.
you made sure it had all of the care
and all of the attention
that a sprout could possibly need.
you let it grow,
and grow,
and grow,
until it was monstrous and wild
and then you dug up the words,
the borrowed words you planted,
the borrowed words you manipulated,
and you created a sentence.
with that sentence
you destroyed my entire being
and you watched me wither away.

I am amazed and applaud your ability and the cleverness that is blended and built within .

i like the concept you have. how they took the words from you and buried the seed in your heart and when it blossomed into a sentence they used that sentence to destroy you. that's my take anyway. very nicely done.
