Memory of You

Memory of You

A Poem by Traci

Riding the waves of emotion, a kaleidoscope of fresh thoughts emerge

layers of memories infused in each portrait hung on the wall

every meal prepared with your own two hands tells a story

of your warm presence, etched in stone

Sustained through the years, grief to melancholy

each with its own subtle nuance, it gets easier with time

but there will always be insatiable heartbreak for me,

the empty space at the table …..

and in my heart

that's so endearing and soulful, dear Traci, I almost cried when I opened to see the photo, Your opening lines were strongly amazing, then how it turned in the third line was just movingly touching... You manged in Your two verse to paint the whole image of losing a mother, and Your poem was just the expressing of Your note, You brought the past, the now even how it will be then into the page.

We do learn. Love is a generous and rare gift. I enjoyed the poem. Memories can be blessings and sometimes bring sadness of things gone. Your poem made me think of things that cannot be no-more. Thank you Traci for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome Traci.
Your words, beautifully sad, have been doggy-paddling your tears for so long.. surprised you've survived but you have.. somehow. And in such an exemplary way. I truly feel proud to be a long.time friend of yours.. even though we've never sipped nor smiled side.by.side. Your words are just that - yours... but your courage will ripple out and give example of how to be, in every way. Must stop, my writing's becoming one long cliche.. But truly do mean every word. Forever hugs.
