About Me

I am a young, amateur poet who's been writing for about three years. Some of my influences include Edgar Allan Poe, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Margaret Atwood, and Mary Oliver.

I mostly write rhyming poetry and free-verse, but I also write many articles, essays, and personal rants. In my poetry, I pay close attention to the word-flow. I'm very particular about the meter in my rhyming pieces, and I try to give my free-verse pieces a rhythmical feel too. I view poetry as both a craft and a form of self-expression. You can find some of my lesser pieces and my rough drafts in my blog.

My reviews are usually in-depth and technical. I critique whatever I think can improve: that includes grammatical errors, visual presentation, meter, word choice, imagery ... You name it!

I send read request to all my friends when I post something, so don't feel obligated to review or even read my work if you don't want to. (I don't review every read request I get, especially if it's a writer I've reviewed plenty of times). If you get tired of me sending you RR's, just message me and tell me to stop. Trust me, I won't mind.

I welcome constructive criticism, so If you have nothing nice to say, please leave a review.

Just wanted to thank you for writing about Paul Laurence Dunbar. I wanted to leave a review but was not able to do so. I grew up and still work in Lynchburg, Virginia, where Dunbar Middle School is located. It was named after this much "underrated poet." Dunbar High School opened in 1923 and represented the fulfillment of a request by the black community to the all white school board to create a new black high school. It has since become a middle school. He was definitely recognized and appreciated within the black community.

Thank goodness you are still here William! I look forward to reading your works, again. Serah, she was pretty special here on WC. Not many read her work, but she was brilliant & kind hearted, ornery too. lol
I glad you remember her. ( :

Thanks, William. All of my writings are published so only members of this site may read them, so I was wondering if I am the only one who does this here or if others do too.
