Guy, you don't have to be educated to be a great writer/critiquer/appreciater of poetry, alot of the people here are dropouts and mundane job workers. I only started a year ago. it will; get easier as you read more, that is the key. For imagery read T.S. Eliot, Longfellow, Sylvia Plath, and Marianne Moore. For eloquent language read John Keats and P.B. Shelley. For short-and-sweets, read Robert Frost. Read (you can google them) Dover Beach, Ode on a Grecian Urn, Endymion, The Hollow Men, The Wastle Land, The Four Quartets, Arrival of the Bee Box, Lady Lazarus, and Mirror. Yeah that should be a good start.

I think passion vs logic is what separates male writing from female. I don't think it makes one style better than the other... I just think it's tendency due to basic nature.

I write to vent... therapy for me... and I never go back over a peice of poetry... simply because I can never relive the passion causing me to write a peice. Some are amazing, and I find myself rereading them in awe that such poured out of me... some... I just throw away cuz they suck.

I think he hated it because it's true... He's an agnostic.. so no that's not the reason
