Poets, it's my fault entirely if you didn't include it in your writes this week, as I forgot to mention that little point, but you will in no way be penalised in the contest this time.

'THE BIRD SINGS BECAUSE IT HAS A SONG"

WELCOME SAL and we look forward to you hosting our contest this week with your lovely phrase.

Sal has chosen the phrase: "The bird sings because it has a Song".
selected from a Chinese proverb.

The entire proverb reads:
"The bird does not sing because it has an answer.
The bird sings because it has a song"


I am sure this lovely phrase will inspire your muses' with some wonderful poems. So pens poised and have fun this week and keep Sal busy!



RULES AND REMINDERS:

This is a weekly "phrase" contest whereby our �host� choses a phrase from a poem, a book or lyric.

The phrase is to be used in the body of the poem. It can be used as the title but must be in the body of the poem also.

The host reads and reviews all the submissions and then choses the winner and placegetters accordingly. The winner then goes on to �host� the next Keeping the Dream Alive Contest with their own phrase. If the winner cannot for some reason host the contest then the next runner-up will be asked to �host�.

If you would like to submit to a contest but not considered �official� i.e. eligible for an award, please mark your submissions "unofficial."

I will set up the contest each week for our "host" and all I require is:

1) A short bio about yourself, just as an introduction for us get to know you.

2) A "phrase" taken from your favorite poetry (can be a poem written you) a book title or music lyrics.

3) Just a short line or two about why you chose the phrase.

4) How many prizes you wish to award.

5) How many pieces of writing to be submitted by the poets
