Buttered Cat Paradox  September 15, 2008 - October 15, 2008

Reading and Deliberating

Details

The buttered cat paradox is a joke paradox based on the tongue-in-cheek combination of two adages:
CATS ALWAYS LAND ON THEIR FEET.
BUTTERED TOAST ALWAYS LANDS BUTTERED SIDE DOWN.

The paradox arises when one considers what would happen if one attached a piece of buttered toast (butter side up) to the back of a cat, then dropped the cat from a large height.

For this contest write a poem exploring the potential implications of the cat and buttered toast paradox...BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!

EXAMPLES: "why" you are tying a piece of buttered toast to the back of a cat, describe what happens at equilibrium, describe the event as the cat & toast are heading towards the ground, describe the ending, describe from the cat's point of view...ah heck, describe from the toast's point of view!
