Celebration of Forms!  January 6, 2014 - January 31, 2014

I would like to start doing a monthly contest to celebrate poetic forms! For January, please submit your best blank verse. For clarification, blank verse is VERY different from "free verse." I chose to start with blank verse because it's very easy to do -- just think Shakespeare!

If you need an example of clean blank verse, please read my poem "Beauty." If you would like an example of blank verse with lightly placed alternative feet (anapests, trochees, and dactyls in place of some of the traditional iambs), please read my poem "Autumn."
