Horrors: Real Or Imagined Contest  April 18, 2007 - October 3, 2007

Horror Real or Imagined Contest is a contest for horror stories either being works of fiction or true stories. The rules must be that the stories must be well written and if they are true you must give the information about how you came about writing the story.

Stories must be between 2300 to 8800 words with a minimum of 2400 to 4400 words to place. No erotic content will be considered for the contest so keep the sexual content at the door. I am even considering scary true stories so if you got a true story that can scare -- please send it.

Stories seen here will be considered for two anthologies. If enough submissions are done for it. The stories I am looking for are stories that are frightening enough to scare H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allan Poe -- this is expecially true with the non-fiction. Winner's will be contacted via email about the information for the prizes to be sent to them -- this is not only a chance for writers to expand their horror libraries with books but a chance to add more to their dvd collections too in the horror genre.

The longer and more horrifying the story is the better the chances at publication. The anthology that will be from the true stories if submitted will be More Frightening Than Fiction 2.

Any slash or yaoi stories will be scrapped the moment they make themselves known. Those kind of stories will be automatic disqualification from this contest and any contest I put together in the future. I am not that kind of writer or that kind of publisher so I don't want to see them.

Update: Tabloid Purposes IV is just filled and two writers from the contest made the roster. Still looking to feature authors on other projects too. Keep the stories between 2300 to 8000 to qualify for publications plus the critia of the gl's on site.

Overall Winner, 2 signed books from me, One Duplicate Tile of a book I own in my collection, -- and 2 DVDs. Titles unknown -- a two day pass to Gothicfest 2007 (21 and Over only for this prize.)
2nd place will get a signed book from me. Title unknown as of yet.
3rd place will get pdf copies of the anthologies I edited as well as a signed copy of the anthology they appear in.
Will be featured in an anthology by Lake Fossil Press, titles TBA
A DVD duplicate from my personal collection. Title unknown until movie is picked up.
