Greetings, my Darklings! This time I bring you another monthly contest. I know it has been so long, but the group is still active.

Today, I am going to give you a story prompt. You are to write a short story beginning with this line: "I saw the sun rise before me, yet it still felt as if it were setting."

ALSO you must use the following words/phrases:
-enthusiastic
-hypnopompic
-passionate plum
-gilded skylight

FINALLY, the story can't exceed the maximum of 700 words. Also, you only have a month to work on it.
