War is in equal parts tragedy and beauty. It exposes people for what they are; people.

Write a story within 5,000 and 100,000 words that demonstrates the true humanity war reveals. Weather it be filled with tragedy, beauty, bravery, cowardice, cruelty or kindness, I want to see people stripped to their barest foundations. Show me deep, believable characters and give me a compelling, emotional wartime story.

It may be a historic, modern, futuristic or fantasy war. Other than this, you can be as creative as you wish.
