This is your task: take something really mundane and boring, like an index card (well that's a bit drastic, maybe a pencil) and give it life. show the world that it's not "just a pencil;" show the world how it lives and breathes, what it thinks, its desires. everything. make me feel it, whether you need to write a story, poem, screenplay, book, or instruction manual on this boring object. if you're writing about a toaster, i will ideally be expecting my toaster to ask me if it did something wrong when i start making oatmeal instead of a bagel.
