Speak Up  July 30, 2009 - August 12, 2009

Create a poem that BOTH raises awareness of an issue, as well as EMPOWERS those who may have lost their voice. Speak for those who CANNOT speak for themselves. Write something powerful and uplifting.
Accepted topics include (but are not limited to):
Abuse, Neglect, Human Trafficking, Exploitation of children, poverty, the homeless, etc.
Topics need not be limited to those we find on our front doorstep. Watch the news, THE REAL NEWS, and take my breath away.

Grammar issues are overlooked as long as I can understand what you're trying to say. And please, be original. Only one piece on a certain topic can place in this contest. I'm looking for variety. I want to see something that we don't see or hear about every day.

The contest will be closed once I'm certain I've received my winners. I am reading each submission as I get them.
