Write a story (or a book if you want) using one or a couple of these themes. Anything goes. Contest ends Saturday!

*A man who sees ghosts checks himself into a mental institute, not realizing that the facility has been closed for almost thirty years.
*While on vacation in Hawaii, a young couple spots a strange, huge green bird with a 16-foot wingspan. One of them is terrified as the bird swoops down and lands just a few yards away from them, but the other one is intrigued. When the bird takes off again, the one who was intrigued insists on following it. So they do.
*As your grandfather lies on his deathbed, he tells you of a terrible crime he committed and got away with many years ago. He also tells you that his freedom was the result of a spell he performed and that you should expect a visit from a dark man. "He will come out of the shadows."
*You are invited to a swanky party full of rich and boring people. To amuse yourself you ask someone a rather innocent question, "Do you know what it's like to kill a person?" Someone says yes.
*You wake up suddenly to find the "one that got away" sleeping quietly beside you. First thoughts that come to your mind.
*Imagine that the person who broke your heart the most came crawling back. How would you react?
