You can follow every rule in White and Strunk's book of grammar, write with Shakespeare's timeless rhetoric, and construct intricate plots that have Chris Nolan drooling for the copyrights, but if you aren't an honest writer, I don't think you're going to get far. Your audiences will never know you, and - worse by far - you will never know yourself.
