Gina, thank you very much for your comment on "Coney Island." This was actually about the Coney Island in Ohio, not the one in New York. I think that is the one you were referring to but I agree with your protest. They took our "Old Coney" away in 1971, after 100 years of operation. Some of the rollercoaster tracks are still there, but it feels like a ghost town. The presence still looms. Today's Coney features outdoor concerts, flea markets, golf and swimming, so it was definitely the "Old Coney" of my childhood that I was remembering.
