Dolphin

Dolphin.

Alfred Dorn sonnet

No specified metre

The Dolphin leaps into the air
he really seems to nearly fly,
a creature of the air and sea.
What sight is there that could compare
with a dolphin against the sky.
It fascinates me completely.
His lofting glistening body streams
water drops like forgotten dreams.
It makes me want to look again
be certain that I am awake.
He leaps aloft no signs of strain,
the dolphin flies make no mistake,
spread silvery droplets in his wake.
He leaps for pure enjoyments sake.
