While You Are Away

A poem about what it feels like to be apart from the one you love.

 feeling so empty & yet so full,
I feel like complaining,
though I'm not sure why.
my heart feels so heavy,
even while my lips are smiling,
can you see what's behind,
this look in my eyes?
feeling well loved,
but taken for granted.
I wish I had you here now,
to hold me & kiss me.
I know just your smile,
could brighten my day,
I guess I just miss you,
while you are away!
