Where

Where

A Poem by Alexander Emberson
"

We all find resolve in multiple ways. What's yours?

"

Where have you been?
Hidden in the shadows, and so far within?
Distant, and yet you're so close

Every crack and line extended across soft flesh
Nothing but fog and the smell of memories of you remain
You've fled this place, and left the ghost of you behind

I cry Casanova! You see through it
I cry Why? You avoid it
I tell the truth. You crush it

Now I am numb
All the bottles I've finished have found me nothing
The Lines I've written become lost in lucid memory

So tell me, where have you been?
Hiding behind your liar's tongue?

And I now realize
You were never here to begin with
