I Forgive Me

I Forgive Me

A Poem by Ambra Celeste

I Forgive Me

Forgive me for drowning you in torrents of sorrow
Forgive me for depriving you of your right to speak
Forgive me for unlocking the bolts on my heart to the mean who slaughtered your spirit
I am guilty
Guilty ‎of wounding you with swords of criticism
Guilty of ‎scarring your beauty with thoughts of disesteem
‎In your shelter I welcomed dictators and thieves
Your sanctuary I contaminated ‎with uncaring beings
Forgive me for not loving you truly
Forgive me for gambling with your purpose on earth
Deaf to your call
Perhaps a fool I was
It sure felt that way
Under waterfalls of healing
I redeem me
I forgive me.

self-loathing calls for self-forgiveness...

we are our own worst critics...

another really deeply profound write from you.
