My One True Goal

A poem about how a person finally accepts themselves

I have finally found myself in this world with so many twists and turns.

Today, I accomplished my one true goal of paving my way for new possibilities.

I have learned to love myself

And not compare my personality and look to that of others.

I am finally free from my cage of self-doubt and depreciation.

Now, I can ultimately know that I am in control of who I become,

With no one else's opinions affecting me.

I will now take on the reigns of my life.

Finally, I am in control.
