ONE MAN

ONE MAN

A Poem by David Adedokun
"

This piece was written against racism

"

WHEN you’re not the creator

Why then over the other you show one favour

Remember, He alone took the decision on skin colour

So don’t object the excellent flavour

OUR home is this same earth

Our coming was through similar birth

We live on by similar breath

And hope to exit through the same portal of death

WHAT is the distinction? I am yet to see

Where is the foundation? We are the same species

Who is making the restriction? Tell him everyone is free

Why the stigmatization? Stop that, because it’s difficult to heal

WITH all your heart, treasure humanity

With your strength, uphold unity

With your cognizance, respect the variety

Let’s make the world a single loving community

Okay, nice message, but your grammar needs some work. Apart from the last stanza, it's hard to understand what you're trying to say. For instance, "Why then over the other you show one favour", is worded very awkwardly, and I don't think it's possible to reword it and still retain the rhyme, so you probably need to replace it. In fact, it's not a complete sentence. It's understandable, but it doesn't flow well. The same applies to the majority of this poem. With a little more work, this could be very special.
