Apocalypse

Apocalypse

A Poem by Aethereal
"

What happens when the sun gets angry?

"

Apocalypse

Melting colors fall away.

Blues desert the sky.

Vivid yellows fade to gray.

Blushing reds bleed dry.

Bright green hues have gone astray.

Blooms don’t catch our eye.

Everything’s as dull as clay.

All has gone awry.

Splendors on the twelfth of May,

rainbows in July

have all fallen to decay.

Seasons petrify.

Now, our sun’s a frozen fray,

and we don’t know why.

Light has turned to the X ray.

Assets freeze and fry.

Feels like an apocalypse to me. The second stanza made me think of the state of mankind these days and if I was the sun, I'd be angry. You are one of the few poets I've read here that can keep inside a rhythmic scale and it is still a pleasure to read by the way. An excellent poem.

Some really great metaphors here.

My interpretation: you've lost love, your heart has turned cold as ice, hard as stone
You need a warm companion to make you feel, see and smell again.

I may be way off, isn't it great if I am though?
That's called inspiration. :)

Things change, they die, they move or are petrified. The world is filled with obstacles and we must always watch where we are going and make the best of it all.

Thanks for your insightful review, blue! New growth takes place above Petrified Forests.
I like this! I feel like it could relate to more things than just an apocalypse of the physical world as well; metaphorically speaking, or course

You know this could be symbolic of how one can see the world in the midst of a heartbreak. Very ice work.
