Dark's Beginning

Dark's Beginning

A Poem by Cpt. Alex Rover
"

When the light rules, whence shall the darkness go?

"

The dark fractals dance before my eyes

I giggle, amused, to my surprise

They coalesce on my arm and spirit me away

to find safe haven, for my spirit to stay

I shake them off, annoyed

“What makes them think I fear the void?

Their dance exasperates,

And, I extrapolate,

“if they bring me away,

“in that place, forever I shall stay

So I shake them off, standing up

And I stuff them in a glass-like cup

Atop a balsa staff they go

To shine darkness upon light’s glow

I take up my lamp and trudge on

Through the land of the rising, burning sun.
